Hello,

I have done a model in 3ds max I used edge modelling to make it - so basically I created a plane 1x1 and used edge to extrude rotate etc and make this model.

Here is the problem - I apply turbo smooth everything is fine

When I export the model in - OBJ format to import in Mud box is all fine but when I import the model in Mudbox I don't see it.

I exported the model in a FBX format - when I import it in Mudbox I see but when I start sculpturing it sort of extruded my polygons inside .

I wanted to ask is it wrong that I created the model using edge modelling or there this might be a problem with some of the verteces not weld properply or another problem.

What is the right way to import 3ds Max Models into mudbox?

Thank you in advance.

before you exported it did you collapsed the stack? are you exporting back and foth from max to mubox because max does not like that if you keep exporting it back and forth from one to another.

You need to import it as Obj or .max file. i would follow the tutorial that justin made

try up putting a link to the attached OBJ file so i can see what is wrong http://www.wikiupload.com/ make sure you give us the URL so we can download it. I don't think you can attach files in DT
