Hi all,

I have an issue. I am currently setting up a rig for my character for my animation class.

I am using the the *Bonus* Rigging the Neex's Eyes lesson. It shows in this part of the kit if you create an eye control(nurbs circle) and clicking on the eye, then performing the constraint as shown on screen with the given settings, it should work.

Though when I do it with the settings shown on screen my eye ball points straight down. Then I tried again, this time taking the tip from the Facial Rigging kit that says to check the Maintain Offset box. So I did, the eye ball no longer pointed down, but when I do move the eye it "rips" out of the eye lid.

To let everyone know I did create the eyes in the as instructed in the same kit. So given all of that, I have triple checked freezings transformations and deleting history, I am at a loss.

I have provided some renders of what the eyes look like when "ripping" out.

If anyone can think of anything at all please let me know.

Thank you in advance! ;)

Josh

try duplicating the eye that works, and get rid of the one that doesn't. Then apply the constraint. Also make sure you centre the pivot point.

Thank you for your response :dance

Both of them dont work. I should have mentioned that. I just used a render of one of the eyes working. Both of them do the same thing. I have deleted history, froze transforms, centered pivot on the curve and the eye. I just dunno what I am doing wrong.

Its wierd because to me Maya is doing what I am telling it to do. It is just not moving the way I imagined it would. In the bonus section of the Char Rigging kit when it the constraint is performed and the instructor moves the control(the nurbs curve) there is no tearing. I just dont know why mine is doing it.

I have even tried making a new set of eyes, nothing works. Any other thoughts? I just can't figure it out. :frown:

Ok so this is wierd. I had been messing with this thing all night long. So On his right eye, after I performed the constraint, it worked. I was like :yes haha. But his left eye still doesn't work right. So I am going to take laxman's advice and duplicate the one that works. Ill keep this updated.

Ok I got it to work. Thanks again for your help laxman.

All that is left is to finalize the rig.
