View Full Version : Multi colored dielectric material?

I wonder if it is possible to create a multi colored dielectric material and if so how is it done. I want to apply a dieletric material to the brake lights of a car I am modeling, but the brake light perspex is made of 2 colors red and clear (see the attached image).

Why not have the red part be a separate mesh?

Thanks TwinsenDude. I had thought of modeling the red and clear bit seperately, but that would be more work than if the dielectric material worked with multiple colors.
Image modeling a stained glass window. It would be a pain to have to model each colored segment individually. It would be heaps easier to model the window as a whole and then have the colored pattern applied via the dielectric material.

Why do they have to be seperate geometry to apply different shaders to them? You working in NURBS?
