Does the middle mouse button work everywhere else but Maya? Try middle clicking in IE - you should get a little up/down arrow icon so you can scroll up and down simply by moving your mouse. If it doesn't work outside of Maya then chances are you need the correct driver for your mouse. Depending on the manufacturer, some mice aren't always plug 'n play. If that's the case, go to the manufacturer's home page and download the drivers for your mouse.

Guys i tried a lot of mice... microsoft....stay away
for me, 1 is the brand...Logitech its a bit costy....but what you pay is what you get
the cheap is expansive it will broke veeeery soon and you will have to buy a new again. On the other hand the real expansive it will last and also the most importand...it will work fine!!!

My suggestion for mouse... Logitech MX Revolution.

-No lags

- Smooth movement

- No frequency problems with wireless keyboards ( almost to throw from the window my microsoft keyboard)

and for keyboard if you like the old Logitech G15 (with the blue backlight).

I recently got the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=109) and haven't had any issues with it. I take advantage of the wireless aspect of it and use it on my PC hooked into my TV, so it doesn't get excessive use but it gets used daily. The only other wireless mouse I've had is an older generation Logitech MX of some sort (can't remember the exact model number as it's quite old), and it worked fine for a couple years but then it started to lose precision...i.e., when I wasn't using it, the cursor on the screen would still move around sometimes. Sometimes it'd cut out while I was working and I'd have to redo the "connect" feature to get it working again. That's just my experiences. I'd imagine that keyboards/mice are like any piece of hardware, there's bound to be lemons here and there. I've never had any major issues with the countless wired Logitech, MS and Dell cheap keyboards/mice that I've used throughout the years.
