View Full Version : Keeping my sky in Composite

I am rendering outdoor scenes using Maya's Sun&Sky. When I bring the files into Composite (.iff files), the sky disappears. I know this is an alpha issue, but I cannot figure out how to turn the alpha information off to keep the sky. Any ideas?

Thank you,
Martin

Found it! In Blend & Comp, change Comp to Atop ( I have no idea what that means, but it works ).

Hello Koorstag! There's another way to do that by rendering directly out of Maya without an alpha. Here's a look at how you can do that:

Hi Koorstag,

You can also add a 'Drop Alpha' node after your image import node to retain your sky.

ah, that would be the most obvious solution wouldn't it =) Seems to be a lot of ways to deal with the issue. The render fix that you made the video for will be my solution in the future, but once its rendered that solution doesn't work to well =).

Thanks again

Martin
