Hi visaotoidien,

What exactly do you want to know? You want to know how to model a jewel? If so, I suggest you watch the maya modeling training movies here on this site to help you get used to the maya tools and use them to create a jewel on your own. In my opinion it's best to keep practicing with different tools and workstyles and find the way you like best.

You would truely have to be a lot more specific on which "jewel" you are intrested in modeling out.

Each of them has another facade count and a unique angular cut associated to it.
Most of them can be modeled out pretty fast with some good amount of mathematical precalculations..

Maybe THIS (http://www.3dlapidary.com/HTML/Models.htm) link would help you out on your projcet... it is a dedicated site that I personally find to be the best related to Lapidary.

BTW, to import .dxf file into maya you have to go to window->setting/prefs->plugin manager and enable the dxf importer plugin. Its not on by default.
