I would like to know is there a way to render out wire frames of your models in Max and how to do so.

There are 2 ways of doing this

1) open up the material editor make sure you have a blank slot; click on standard and change that to compotisite double click on it max will ask you to replace or disguard. it does not matter b/c it's a blank material slot.

2) In the material 1 click the none button now select the standard material in the new dialog double click on standard. now this has been added for the diffuse colour (color) choose black now about choose wireframe make sure you assign it to your model/object. don't forget to change your environment colour (color) to a white for example. now to a render.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

the second one is really the same as above to speed up the/your render then go to edit object properties and then turn off everything in the rendering controls apart from the renderable, inherit visibility & visable to camera. Now render your object.

oh don't forget to turn them back on after your finished

Hope this helps
