Does the rendering speed of Maya depends upon the number of polygons or the surface area of the polygons in a mesh. Wat will render fast?? a square with 5 sq units area or a square with 25 sq units area. :frown:

Rendering speeds are based on many variables...too many to be a "simple" answer. :-) Your CPU speed, the total amount of geometry in your scene, the amount of geometry the camera sees, the size of your file textures (if applicable), the amount of file textures (if applicable), etc. Beyond all that, the number of polys would play more into the final rendering speed than the surface area of any given poly.
