Hi,
is it possible to apply a stroke to an open bezier path in nuke in the rotopaint tool? When drawing lines, the brush tool is not accurate enough, and for illustration purposes, I need to draw accurat straight and curved paths.
At the moment, I have to do this in AE and import it into nuke, which is quite a workflow killer.

Hi Ludwig,

Are you needing to animate the path along the curve? There is kind of a hack way to get a stroke around a path, although it's pretty inefficient.

1. Create an Invert node and connect it to your RotoPaint
2. Merge the original RotoPaint and the Inverted RotoPaint
3. To control the width of the stroke, you can add a Blur after both RotoPaint nodes (make one Blur, Clone it) and increase the blur.
4. Then you can Grade and Color Correct it to your heart's content.

Hi Chris
thanks for your help, this works perfectly fine for closed paths, do you know a way to make it word if the path is open?

Hi Ludwig,

I can't seem to get this to work on an open path. You can draw a closed path very close to itself to create a line-like path. It will be more difficult and error prone. This is MUCH easier when drawing B-Splint shapes (just place a second point next to your first point).
