Ok now I am texturing the celica. Yeah! :) I am trying to texture the underside of the front headlight. I follow papa exactly by converting to subD's then adding a few creases and converting back to poly's. then duplicate, move up, rotate, freeze transforms, scale flat, freeze transforms, planar mapping in "Y", UV snapshot as targa, go into photoshop and use the pen tool to create a nice shape, give the shape and the background 2 different colors of gray, delete the alpha, create a new one and save it. In Maya I create a new blinn and create a file node for the color. attach the file to the specularity and delete the transparency link. turn on High rendering and bam! its on the wrong side!.......see pic below. If I then transfer the attributes to the headlight underside piece the top is solid but the bottom is translucent...

Any Ideas what I did this time LOL!

Thanks

Try reversing the normals. Go to Edit Polygons > Normals > Reverse Normals. It should work.
