Hi,

I have used the sweep modifier on these splines to create the base for a rail loop.
I picked the outline spline as the source for the sweep, but as you can see. The scale is way off.

I have tried altering settings and adding another modifier to the stack to resize the resulting sweep geometry
but have had no luck.

Any ideas as to why this is going on?

cheers

Adam

The little dash in between the sweep geometry is the picked spline, in case you did not see it above.

I found this on CG architect...

"You need to apply a "XForm" modifier to the section you are trying to Sweep. Modify the scale of the XForm Gizmo to get your section correct.

I happen to be working on a very large bridge project too. I modeled portions of my bridge in AutoCAD using the Sweep command and now I am finishing it up in Max."

I applied the xForm modifier to the reference line. Then the Sweep modifier to the path line, and manipulated the Xfrom gizmo post sweep.

problem solved, thought I would share.

Merry Christmas to all. =)
