Hi
I usually use max for network rendering and there is this option in which either you archive the file and it willl automatically grabs all the textures for you and make a file so that when you move the file you don't have to manually call each and every textures.
even if you don't make an archeive all you have to do is just give path to textures folder and it will call all the textures itself without any hassels . but In maya there is no such option available so how can I move my file/files with textures so that I don't have to face manually recalling textures problem.
as It is wastage of time as well as money.and suppose i am living in one place and I have use a renderfarm which is in someother place how would i move all my shots so that i don't have to call all the textures again. plz reply ASAP

To fix this, before you start anything go to file-> Project->new, Hit the use defaults button and then accept. That will create a folder called the project name, and all the other folders inside it. Once you have created a new project, make sure you put all the textures into the texture folder, and then call them in maya. That way maya remembers only the relative path. So if you have you scene in the scenes folder and you textures in the textures folder, all you do is move the entire folder and everything works fine.
