Hi everyone,
I already have my uv map all nice and laid out in my uv texture editor. The problem I'm having is that when it comes time to take a uv snapshot of it, Maya is generating a shot at the aspect ratio I want, but it is completely BLACK!

Can anyone tell me what's going on here?

Thanks.

Just a shot in the dark, do u have your mesh highlighted/selected?

Hi brandeil,
Thanks for the response.

I have my workspace split into 2 planes. When I highlight my object in the left plane, the uv map shows up fine in the uv editor on the right.

When I'm taking my UV snapshot, the object remains highlighted.

hi

make sure the polys that u want the snapshot of are selected in the Unwrap window, not just having the mesh selected

Thanks Broomy,
I'll give it a shot tonight when I get back from work.

Hey Broomy,
I made sure both the polys in the mesh and the UV Texture Editor
were selected when I tried making the uv snapshot. I'm still getting a black frame.

post a screen shot of the uv editor and the uv snapshot options dialogue right before you actally take it the snapshot. That should help the troubleshooting here.

laxman, Broomy, brandeil,

Thank you all for your suggestions. I found out what my problem was:

I had to just highlight the uv's then go to Polygons>Layout> and make sure the uv's all conformed to the upper right quadrant on my uv grid.

Everything fell into place after that and I was able to start texturing in PS.

Thanks again everyone.
