Greetings fellow Classmates and Chit Chattters-
I am a new member here and need some suggestions. I work in the industry of cartooning with 2-d Characters and felt the need to take this to the 3-D world, however my work schedule does not work with regular classes that are needed with an instructor.
My first question is: Can a student learn these areas with the help of Digital Tutors alone if they stay commented to the lessons ?
What is the path to lening Maya and ZBrush so that It all makes sense to me in my learning curve?
I purchesd some helpful tapes already from Digital Tutors: The Intruduction to Maya - Female Android Modeling in Maya and The Introduction to Zbrush , however I am not sure if I have everything that I need to get me up and running. Now I do know within time it will all come too me But I thought to ask from u guys out here first before I go at this the wrong way.
I am using Maya 5.0 but the lesson are for version 7.0 Maya. I look at the interface and it is different, and yes I do understand that with the newer version the interfqce may change just becasue, so I try and make the best of it and follow step by step in Maya.
My frustrations with the different websites that offer helpful DVD's all cator to the PC but not the Mac users, I am sure it's becasue of the masses, but we are out here as well and it can get really bloogy at times.
But, I must say that so far what I have review has turned me in a direction of promise. I built a shape, and this is big for me but there is so much more to get through,,, please help.
When I reach my goals with the help of Digital Tutors I plan on doing all model stuff like: Cartoon Characters from Humans to Cartoons / Catoon Houses , The Environments that they live in /Cartoon Objects /Real Objects and final, make these things React-Walk-Speak and so on.
So you see I need a path, so that I am headed in the right direction. Lie I said I work in the field already, but felt the need to learn the 3-D side of things.
Thanks,
Savnac
