Hey guys, long time no post. recently there were some studio recruitments, so I decided to toss together a bunch of my old projects and such to give some applications a shot, considering I've been learning it for a couple years now on my free time. I never really had any mentors and such, and I think I might have made a mistake of trying to learn a whole bunch of stuff rather then focusing on one skill, so I've kinda come off as mediocre in everything. I haven't gotten any phonecalls or responses back from any studio for the past couple weeks now, so I'm assuming it didn't catch much attention. But anyway, I have it up on youtube, so check it out and post away on what you think overall.

Very nice reel.
I do have a couple of suggestions however, but they are not related about content, but presentation.
After the first half, there are many parts where it's not clear which parts of the collaboration you did.
For example, on the game it's not noted anywhere if you did all of the 2D art, or some, and if some, which parts.
In addition, the effects you did with footage from other games have the same problem, it's a little hard to see which parts where done by you the first time you see it.
I would definitively showcase the building exploding and the planet, I think those are your strong points.
You begin very strong and end too weak (and by weak, I mean taking as a standard your own work, which is a heck lot better than what I could dream of doing right now), so maybe some reordering of the clips can help. I would still keep the planet first.
Again, I might not know much, but I've been to a couple of workshops here and there on how to present these things, so just some food for thought. I love your demo reel, and it is great that you made it without having any "real mentors".
Good luck!

Cool reel, have to agree with Igris though at some points it's easy to lose exactly what you've done. I watched it about 10 times but others might not. :)
