I'm able to follow along until near the end of the lesson on "Building the Room Architecture" where you select the edges of the 'door,' then select the bevel tool, "click and drag" or enter the Inner Offset values to see the bevel.

I've tried this several times, and each time, the only thing that happens is that my geometry goes wacky. The edges suddenly attach to other parts of the room. See?

I tried lowering the Inner Offset numbers. Nothing worked so I gave up and used the project file (interior_03.c4d), where it works.

Any ideas about why my original geometry didn't?

You have problem with cuting that edge. Probably you have unused point on that edge. That point cut that edge. If you used knife>loop tool that be happen. Before you used bevel, go to Fuctions>optimize to clean unused points... Than go to point mod and select point by point, move it to see what happen. Maybe there is two points seperate or you have point over point. In thaht case melt that point. Its all about cuting. Can you attach file.c4d to see exactly what is the problem.
You see when you used bevel tool some lines didnt move. Like I said in some step when you cut edges you create duplicate points and lines. Melt that points and you're done.
