I have been knocking my head for last 2 hours to model a simple piece that it is driving me insane. It would probably take 5 min for someone here.
It has to be one piece poly that can be smoothed using subD. The edges needs to be firm...which is not a problem. The problem is the interaction between the hole area and the ramp part. I cannot get it smooth like in the image. The wall area where the ramp meets the hole always comes messed up with stepped surface.

Please please please help me. Can someone model it or show me in line form the best way to make it? The lines needed to firm up the edges adds to the mess. This is how the edges should look-

This is what I have managed so far...still not perfect in 2-3 places-

can you specify which area is not what you want and also say exactly what it should be like. I can't really tell what you want it to look like.

What's the end-game? A polygon model or SubD? Are you looking for sharp edges or something rounded?
