C4D newbie here...

I followed the Sound Effector course. Now, I want to take a designer's Illustrator files and animate them using that course as a basis.

Can this be done? What steps should I take?

I assume the first step would be to bring in the Illustrator files (like in the Woody and Broadcast Design courses), and make them 3D. From there, can I apply the Sound Effector? Does the geometry created from Illustrator need to be a specific type of geometry in C4D first?

I need to know before I tell the creative team that it can be done.

Thanks!

This should be possible, depending on what attributes you want to drive. You can drive the splines themselves as objects, and should be able to use them in combination with mosplines to create more complex effects. There are some ideas for working with splines and animating them in the Broadcast Design course.

Thank you. I'll look into that tutorial.
