I was following the Photorealistic Car modeling CD... and i came across this problem. Any suggestions?

looks like you have a spherical mapping around your object. I haven't made been through this kit in a while, but i'm pretty sure you want a cylindrical mapping so that the texture flows evenly from one side to the other. Watch the vids about making the tires again, and you should see all the steps to applying the projection correctly.
