In the number 2 chapter of this series, what you're supposed to do is load up the "Aragor" character from the Motionbuilder "tutorials" folder. I do that, and the character appears as he's supposed to. Then you're supposed to add the "male_2_walk" project file into the Navigator "story" window. I do that as well and when I do that, the character moves to the beginning pose of the animation as it does in the instructional video. But when I hit play on the timeline, the character doesn't move. The clip in the story window is at frame zero as it's supposed to be, but there's no animation present on the "male_2_walk" or even the "male_2_side_step", it only moves the character to the beginning poses but that's it. I'm in MBuilder 2011 but I'm not thinking that would make a difference. Anyone else had this problem? :dont know Any help would be appreciated.

I just did the same tutorial and had the same problem. It would be nice to get this fixed. Which tutorial has the corrected files?

I too had the same thing happen. I wondered if there was something I missed between 2011 and 2010. Reinstalling 2010 to see if it works.

Issue Solved...

It seems that Take 001 is always empty. Here are the steps I had to take to get my character working...

Add character to scene
Go to Storymode
Drag over the motion (fbx file)
With the character track selected, right click and choose change take.
Choose your take

You character should move.
