View Full Version : Strange Error close Maya

When i just move the persp view i get this error
Fatal Error. Attempting to save in C:/DOCUME-
1/vofff/LOKALA-1/Temp/vofff.20061001.2035.ma
And it directly close the program without saving.
What should i do? I dont want to re-install it.

I believe it's the video card driver, not uncommon. Try updating it. Hope that works.

yes DJVoyager is right.
I had the same issue with my old video card.
Mine was 128 mo but now with my 256 mo maya works perfect.

try starting maya, then define a new project and create a new scene, then save it as something. Then try moving the camera. If that doesn't work, you probably need a new card.

Follow up question...
i too have encounter this error message on a couple of occassions.
I am using a brand new computer with a NVIDIA Quadro FX Go1400 video card. From my understanding this is a pretty good card... why am i this issue?

I dont find any updates to my card It is a nvidia Geforce 6800 LE.
So should i buy a whole new one? I have tried create a new project but it pop up the same error.

Yup, like I said this issue is common, simply because the video card drivers don't auto-update. In a way it is a good thing because some older versions are better than the newer ones, on some machines...depending on your hardware. I had Maya crash on one machine but on the other the OS crashed...good thing it reported the crash was caused by video card driver. Unfortunately Maya doesn't report what causes it to crash so most of the solutions are figured out through trial and error by CG communities like us :)
