I was just wondering, there are quite a lot of training dvd's in the DT store and it has become overwhelming just looking at them all. I started with the Intro to Maya 2nd edition and that really helped me get comfortable with the program. But my question is, where do I go next? Is there a prefered order to these DVDs that make learning easier or more efficient? Are there instances where it would be advised to watch one training DVD before another?

You should go next to increase your modeling skills, then texturing/lighting, animation and fx!! Good luck mate, i think with the awesome material DT is producing, you'll become a master in no time!!

This is my suggestion. I would go with the Photorealistic Car Modeling program. The reason behind this, is that like the Intro CD's it steps you through all the process of making the model, texturing, HDRI and rendering. I found that this CD Set should be before the Polygon/Sub-D cd's since it gives a better understanding of what sub-D's actually do. Also, the Polygon/Sub-D cd's start out (initally) with Nurbs and convert to Sub-D's and if you don't understand Nurbs, then you might feel a little lost. I also found it to be easier to work with (what I call) hard surfaces, such as metal, buildings, etc.. The Polygon/sub-D cd's start you out with organic modeling of a creature and they only cover the model itself, concluding in other CD's for Texturing and maping.
Mind you that this is only my oppinion and I'm sure you will have others posting theirs shortly.

well thank you for that explination, they both make sense. I'll look into getting the Photorealistic car kit next.
