View Full Version : Adding a mesh to skinned character

Hey there,
Does anybody know a good way to combine a mesh onto a character that's already been skinned and weighted?
Basically, I have a character that moves well with it's skeleton, but I want to add a drumstick in each hand, without having to attach the sticks to the mesh, and then re-skin and weigh the whole thing over.

I don't know if your using the biped or the bones because you don't say if your using the biped then use the Physique modifer if you don't know how to use this. then read the manual or the books that come with max it hard to explane

Hey! If I understand it correctly, used like to constrain objects to both hands of your character. If that's correct, simply use a Constraint. In this case, you may consider using either a Link Constrain, which is great for animating the constrained object moving from one parent to the next, or a combination of the Position and Orientation constraints.
