mapping dxf files from Rhino

one quick questions, is there a way to 2D/normal mapping a Rhino dxf surfaces. It didn't work with normal mapping but it work with projection mapping. Thanks for the helps!

FYI, I usuallly work with Rhino models first and translated to dxf files then imported into Maya.
