I really enjoyed the Introduction to RenderMan for Maya and I learned a ton of great stuff! :headbang:
However I was dissapointed with the baking section, the way it was explained makes it seem like an almost useless feature. not being able to move the camera or objects...
here is how to bake GI and move the camera.
1 turn off double sided for all the objects
(Under render stats, double-sided, for the shape nodes)
2 turn off backface culling and hidden culling,
under the pass settings created when you make the bake node.
3 bake as explained in the video
then you can move the camera anywhere and it still renders really fast.
I can't figure out how to bake in a way that lets you move objects around. I know they do this for games, but can renderman do it?
I wanted to ask support, but can't find my order #, I can't find my recipt and it doesn't seem to be on the dvd or cover...
are there any more renderman videos on the way? ;)
