Hi,

I was watching the "Using the Paint Deform Tools" in the 3ds Max training section. Checking out some new features in 2010, when I saw the tutor change the viewport perspective while the paint tool was active.

Usually, I press CTRL+R to enter perspective rotation mode but this exists the paint tool mode.

Can anyone quickly tell me how the tutor changed the perspective? He must be pressing some key and dragging to do it. I can't figure it out or find it in the 3ds manual.

Thanks,

I guess this forum isn't very active. Thought it was an easy question.

Hi Mustan9,
To move around in your scene a little more quickly, and while keeping your paint deform tools active, you can use the following keys -
Middle Mouse Button will allow you to pan around your scene
Alt + MMB will allow you to rotate around
Ctrl + Alt + MMB allows you to zoom in and out (you can also you the scroll wheel if you have one)
I hope that helps!
