Just randomly today i have discovered that one of the all time masters of fantasy films Peter Jackson is doing his next great trilogy and if u really love dragons this is it for you, now dont worry, he still is going to do The Hobbit, but after that he is deciding if he should possibly do debut novelist Naomi Novik's Temeraire series!

For those of u who have not read it, the book takes place in an alternate reality where during the napoleonic war, the battle to save Great Britain is taking to the sky on dragonback. It follows a young naval cabin boy name Will Laurence who after his ship the HMS Reliant captures a French frigate and discovers that it carries a dragon egg and the dragon hatches selecting Will as his caregiver will named him Temeraire and thus they are drafted into the british aerial corps to take the fight against Napoleon's empire on dragonback. Tis cool when u think about it, i love it! the personality the author had given the dragons, lol.

Though the movie is not scheduled to go into production till 2009, so Jackson will get The Hobbit done, and the Halo movie done

Here's looking forward to it! :headbang: :yes

:frown: Jackson, next thing I know Weta would be doing The Quintaglio Ascension, though I would have shot through the roof if thats ever became true, and dissapointed cus that would be a trilogy i would have loved to do.

I like the hobbit, but I for one would love to see The Silmarillion.

Imagine the Battle of the Powers, against Morgoth..The king of the dragons doing battle with Earendil, the Valar...that battle would make Pellenor fields look like two fleas have a punchup!

but u see that would take tooo long, thats like another trilogy right there, its Silmarillion is too long, though i like big battles *drools* heheheheh, Massive anyone? never frett about lack of battles in Temeraire folks there is this awesome battle in defense of England at the end of the book where France sends like forty dragons up against like the 23 English dragons and the battle scene from that is amazing
