View Full Version : Modo to Maya FBX Import Issue

I just started using modo and went to test the FBX export/import into Maya and it doesnt work. I hit "F" to frame it and it shows up for a milisecond and goes away. One: It's too big, two: it's millions of miles away from the grid. What gives? Is this problem fixable?

you maya have sorted this already but i've had the same issue. I solved it by I erased the camera and light before i saved it to fbx also changed the units to meters from modo. When inmporting to maya first change to meters in the settings then scale out using the mouse middle button. You will start to see the geometry unshaded of your character etc. but it disapears if you scroll to much. Now go to camera and in the camera attributes change the far clip plane to 99999. The geometry will now appear and you can grab it and scale it down to the grid size so its workable. There are other plugin imports that just except the lwo in mayaq but im on a mac and they are only for pc. If any one has a even easier way of doing this post it as its a pain in the arse to do this constantly
