I have recently updated from Maya 7 which I used on my Mac to Maya 8 for my PC and I am having a weird selection issue. Whenever I create a NURBS primitive - say a cube, and deselect it, and then go to click on it to move the cube, it only will select one of the faces. Maya 7 never did this to me. I would select the entire object no matter where I select. But in Maya 8, it selects whatever face I actually select. In order to select the entire cube, I have to draw around the entire cube. Is this a version thing? Or is there a preference I can change so this doesn't happen anymore??

Thanks for the help!!!

you can change you selection mode to group. A NURBs cube is actually 6 nurbs planes rotated to look like a cube. If you check out the outliner you will see the group there. On the menu bar at the top, beside the button for object and component selection modes you should see a button for group selection. That will select the entire thing at once.

BTW. You could just select one face then hit the up arrow on the keyboard and select the group, and you shouldn't drag a box around all 6 faces because that doesn't move the group node with it. You have run into some wierd problems if you try to animate the cube.
