Selection Problems

Hi all;

I am having a problem selecting items.

My problem is this. I have a model on the screen that is made up of say 5 - 10 parts. When I select one of the objects to work on and go to say a vertex level of adjustment, when I select some vertexes the other objects behind the one that I am working on select also. (they turn white).

I have overcome this problem by putting each object on a separate level and making the parts I'm not working on a reference layer.

In the DT videos they don't seem to do this.

I'm wondering if there is a setting or check box somewhere that I don't know about.

Can anyone help please....

See if you had the objects grouped,or they are combined as a one poly object . If not try using selection masks . I think you just select vertex points and grab a model that is after.Use template layer option if needed,I mean if you dont want to move this part .

I had the same problem, but I don't know exaclty what is wrong. I fixed it by reseting all the setting in the preferences to default.
