Hi,
How is it possible in Maya to make a wireframe image? Is there something similar to "Force to wireframe" option in 3dMax?
Thanks!

hi,
i will tell a method, but there are lot many methods we can do this... like hardware rendering etc....
in case if u r using a poly mesh, when u take a uv snapshot of the poly mesh to a tga or a tiff file, in photoshop -- control select the alpha layer in the channnels and apply a stroke of black or any color with 1 px...
now that stroke becomes the texture for the mesh... as always, u can create a file node in maya and connect it to the color node of the shader assingned to the poly mesh... now browse for the texture and start rendering...
if u feel that the stoke is thicker.. try for other options in photoshop...
this method has 1 requirement which is we can have accurate results only on a properly uv unwrapped poly mesh... and this method has 1 drawback which is obvious --- "its a long process"...

Thank you for your answer. I'll try it to see how it works.
I imagine that the rendered object, let's say a sphere, will render poorly, because of the antialiasing in the alpha channel. What else could I try if I'd like the meridians and paralels to be nice and sharpened?

A few options I have used:
Create a new surface shader material and map the grid procedural texture to its color, you can adjust the repeat and rotation of the place2dtexture node to get whatever density and orientation you require
Use Maya toon lines
Use hardware render of wireframe and composite
