View Full Version : Switch between wireframe and smooth shade

Hi,

Can anyone please help me with this one:
I can see my poly object in wireframe mode, but when I switch to Smooth Shade view (key 5), it disappears. The object is a skin bound to a skeleton. All other poly objects in the scene are displayed corectly, excepting the skin. In wireframe mode I still can see the animation, and everything is working just fine, but in shade view, the skin just disappears.
I must mention that in the shade view, with the object hidden, when I click somewhere in the area where the object is supposed to be, I select it, but I can see just its wireframe. The other objects are shaded.
I tried to reverse the normals but it didn't work.
One more thing... it also doesn't render.

Have you made a smooth proxy? Could be you have no shader info. Try giving it a new shader, then change it back to the correct one. Try optimizing your scene size also. Make sure you uncheck (unused shaders or materials). Last thing. Try doing an export all selected objects, then importing them into a fresh scene. Look in the render stats section to see if your geometry has an override in the shape display.

Thank you very much! I solved the problem by exporting all the objects, then importing them. All the names were messed up, some new atributes disconnected, but at least I've got my creature back :)
