View Full Version : No Reflectivity with"Use Background"

Hello,

I'm making a little animation with a box moving on a plane. So i've putted a surface "use background" on a poly plane to have no differencies between my ground and my sky. The problem is that i can't have any reflectivity on that type of surface.

Maybe its just me but I dont understand the question, can u post sample pic and show what your problem is?

hi hologramm if i understand your problem..try to change the specular and reflectivity of the use bacgkround shader
if you render your image and in render view display alpha channel you'll see the alpha reflectivity . If you add a spot light and set shadow you 'll see th alpha shadow

remember to check raytracing quality to maya software render or you not in able to see anything of refl

maya help also say : Drag the slider to set the Specular Color to white if you want to see very clear reflections in the rendered result.
and
if the object is very shiny, increase the value of reflectivity

Playing with, the specular, the reflectivity and the environnement of the camera made what i wanted. Thanks for your fasts answers.
