Hi leif and starjsjswars,

Houdini is also great in modeling. Its just a tool like Maya, 3Ds Max etc.

Good luck with it.

BTW If you need further help than post your questions about modeling in Houdini here.

Thanks

Here are some common tools you would use for modeling

left is Houdini and right is Maya

PolyExtrude = Extrude
EdgeLoop = Insert Edge Loop Tool
PolySplit = Split Polygon Tool
Fuse = Merge
PolyBevel = Bevel
PolyCap = Fill Hole
Subdivide = Smooth
Sculpt = Sculpt Geometry Tool
Mirror = Mirror Geometry
Combine = Combine
Extract = Extract

Hope that helps you to get started :)

BTW shortcut to repeat your last action is "q" in Houdini (in Maya "g")

Modeling in Houdini it's a very!!! bad idea. For example in 2012 models were created by Maya
