Ok guys, it took a while, mostly because of render time, but here it is:

Now, I am ready for the next one. I made a lot of mistakes on this project, but at the same time I learned a lot from it. :)

Thanks. It was a lot of fun to do it.

Yeah, unfortunately I had to re-render a couple of scenes because I forgot to change a couple of shaders, plus it is not a great idea to use a mia_material with blurred reflections for an animation, it is just too expensive to render. Next time I better just blur the reflection pass in post. Otherwise I would have had it finished by last Thursday :)

great work Phoebe.
the only thing I can say is that it seems like the purple rider doesn't try to avoid crashing into the green rider's stream.
But overall very nice animation :)
And btw, I liked your other end logo animation better. :D But cool background effect on this one. :p

Thanks Atomic, the scene was draging too much time from me and I did not really have the strength to put the time on that detail. Thanks for the input on the logo too! :)

Thats one badass piece of work :bang

How long were the render times?

Thanks Dule. Well, I have a mini renderfarm with 3 computers and approximately it took about 48 hours to render the whole project. As I said before I had to re-render a couple of scenes because I forgot to change some shaders and that increased the time. Also I learned from my mistakes and next time I will use simpler shaders instead of the mia_material and tweak things in post, which is a lot faster anyway and gives you more control.

Well, now back to my next project and to play some more with the new Maya 2011 features :p

By the way Dule, the new Maya has color management for the render window and batch render (in case you have not checked it yet). So that linear workflow we were talking about to make the renders look like they come up in the render view, is not necessary anymore.

Mini-render farms buzzing all night... haha, sounds all too familiar ;)

I didnt get to check out Maya 2011 yet, but not having to worry about gamma correcting everything sounds awesome!!
Cant wait to get my hands on it.

Sweet work Phoebe! Really cool stuff. The only thing I can critique is that I feel like it should be a lot faster, but that's just my opinion. And every time I hear something about 2011 it sounds better and better. Keep up the awesome work. My fav bit was the explosion, you've obviously worked hard on it.

Really nice work!
maybe you should try to make the model disapear after the explosion cuz we still can see the bike when the explosion come down.
but thats damn good ! I really really like it!

Phoebs...wow...nice work! I really like the way that came together, you clearly worked hard on it, and nice flashy logo at the end too...I bet that took just as long as the short :)
