Hey Guys,

I made a type LOGO for myself in PHOTOSHOP with added filters.
Saved it as a PNG. Fine. Imported it into AE - then used the Text
Animation Preset (don't remember which one) anyway. Applied it-
NOTHING. should I have cut each letter and imported them or should
I have made a Pre-comp of the LOGO layer. So am I a Bronx NUT.

I know plug-ins like invigorator does the job, but I can't afford them now.

Gin....

Don't have AE handy at the moment, but I believe the Text Animation Preset applies only to text created in AE. Are you applying the text filter to a separate layer?

If you bring in your text as an image from Photoshop than AE will treat it like an image. DJVoyager is correct.

Try doing the same from scratch in AE

Thanks Z,

But what about applying the LAYER STYLES, like EMBOSS, DROP SHADOW. I should have mentioned that, the text has layer styles.
But that should not make a difference right.

You can apply all these effects to the AE text in AE, but if you're talking about the ones that you applied in PSD then they're gonna turn up as you have saved the file in Photoshop. I'd suggest to apply these effects in AE, then you'd have all the animation/keying control over them.
Hope that helps.

awsome...I hope to return the favor someday. :dance
