extruding along axis

Quick question: I'm playing with the trail version of XSI and wanted to know how the extrude along axis works, i looked into the property window and i couldnt seem to find how XSI determines what axis to extrude along, does it do it like from camera local or what?

well...actually you can select which axis to extrude in the PPG of Extrude Op. Cheers :)
