I'm not exactly sure where to start but I'll start by saying that I haven't done a whole lot of 3D in any format lately. I was trying to teach a few guys Maya but that wasn't working out to well.

That being said, I just watched the free tutorial on particle collisions, this is better then TV in my opinion, and I actually understood, okay! almost, everyhting Papa was doing. I haven't dealt with any programming languages in a long time and I wish the hell I had Papa as an instructor when I was learning. You explain everything very, very well.

The one thing I wasn't sure about, and I'll probably have to watch it again, was where you created an emitter then tossed it away. Can you elaborate on why you did that or if you didn't do that what the hell did I miss?

What a great site with what I think are the best Instructors.

We needed a particle object. An easy way of doing it, is to make an emitter (which will make the particle object) and then we can delete the emitter since it is no longer needed.
Glad you liked the lesson. Stay tuned! :)

Now that is the part that confused me. If you create an emitter to create a particle how can you delete the creater? You know what? I just figured it out...I think. You delete the emitter but the particle it created still exists. Is that correct? So that is the particle1 that Papa refers to. So clever, you are the best.

Sunder, thanks a bunch! I know that 99.9% of the people here understood that but it makes me really happy that I got it.

Now all I have to do is get my ass in gear and start doing what I used to love doing. 3D!

you make everything easy to understand!!!

thanks
