I have Digital Tutors Advanced Fluids kit, and when I got to the part where they make the realistic fluid, I heard them say the realistic fluid effect only works within the actual fluid Container correctly, rather than inside something like a glass. My suggestion is to make the fluid container where you actually model the shape of the container because this will allow a person to be able to control what kind of shape the liquid can go in, and plus if you can model out the shape of the container, you could make things like paths for liquids rather than for them to completely react to the environment. You could just model out the shape to where it exactly the same as the environments shape, but you are actually just having the fluids doing its normal activities within it's bounding box. I'm not sure if this is even possible to do, but like I said, it's a suggestion for future liquids.
