View Full Version : Round Tool
I'm modeling the object in the attached image. The object is made up of NURBS. I'd wanted to round off the edges using the Round Tool but the result I keep getting isn't what I want. Whenever I apply the Round Tool to the sharp edge I lose the geometry making the side of the object. See both attached images to see what I mean. My question is wht is causing this and what is the solution??

Is that the render? I believe it might be the graphics card. Even with Nvidia there are some issues that cause geometry to disappear, but it's only in the workarea. Try converting that surface to a sub-d and see if that works.
That is a screen capture of the perspective viewport. The graphics card I'm using is the [b]ATI Mobility Radeon X600[b/]
I've tried what you suggested regarding converting to Sub-D. The result was all the trimmed surface reappeared as though it was not trimmed. I've also tried converting NURBS to Polygon but the result did not show the surface that disappeared. Attached are images of the conversion from NURBS to Sub-D.

How does it render though? Also, try deleting the history on that before trimming.

Above is the rendered version as you can see the hole or missing geometry is still there. I've deleted the history before doing the trimming. I'm going to try this all over again and see how it turns out.

put the render tesselation to max and take a render to see if thats the problem

why dont you just model that with subd's in like 2 and a half minutes?

or u could just bevel the edge
