Okay I really can't say my own website is great. But I finished my new portfolio site and if you have a chance, you should goto it.

Its looking pretty good, just a few crits.

I need more of a roll-over action for the top links. I was rolling over them waiting for something to happen. Eventually I saw the blinking red bar, but I was really hoping for some sort of color change. If the user is looking at their cursor to find out where they are then they're not reading your text.

One more thing is it looks like in your gallery you just resized the images into thumbnails. This leave some pretty bad jagged edges on all the images. I'd say re-size them in photoshop then use those instead of shrinking large images.

Yeah I know the quality on the thumbs isn't too good, but I didn't want to add anymore data then I had too. I think the load time right now is a little long.

The rollover's, I'm losing my contract job I have now so I through something together in a couple of days. So I didn't know how much time I had. I have a better computer and all the software at work, so I wanted to do it here.

Thanks for the compliments, hope I can find a new job fairly quickly.

i like the site. but i thing your webbsite link to the NASI site should be on aother menu. and it should say what kind of site it is and not just Nasi site....anyways great job on the site and i wished i could go to full sail, it seames like the perfect school!

Full Sail isn't the perfect school, I worked very hard down there and tried to get the most I could out of it. They teach you the very basic's (which school doesn't?) and they leave out a lot. They don't show you Sub D's and they don't say anything about Mental Ray. At times they limit you on your projects. There is no requirments to get into that school so there is a lot of bad artist there. So you have to get the instructor's approval on all projects. I wanted to do some High Res stuff, but always got shot down cuz they want me to keep it simple. Where I always had one of the top 3 projects in every class.

Anyways I'll stop rambling about Full Sail. All in all I did learn a lot there, and I don't reget it at all. The people that complain about it are the people that left the second lab was over and never came to the late night open labs. The one's that did the bare min. on all projects and after graduation they never touched Maya again. Those guys are pissed at the school cuz they don't have jobs, I wonder why?

I do not wish to be too critical here - but using Flash is a big mistake - In this case the movie does not fully load in eitherFirefox or Internet Explorer I am met with a watch - a few red bars where the links should presumably be and no way to view the rest of the site. I have now been waiting more than 5 minutes - still nothing.

As a rule I religiously avoid Flash Based websites myself being a web designer among other things - unless you can guarantee the golden rule of pages taking no longer than 7 seconds to load on a 56kbps dial up connection then forget about it! Why use Flash in the first place? Flash most certainly does have it's place in web design but if it's used merely as an attempt to show off your flash skills then you are wasting your time. better to build a quality site with other available technologies and link to flash content as specific portfolio content per se. In very few cases do I regard Flash Websites as quality - Once site I do thorughly recommend though as the exception here is Eric Jordan's site http://www.2advanced.com/

I do not wish to e discouraging but Flash is 'old hat' and in my opinion has been on the way out for years. Remember the prime function of a website is useabiity and taking every available precaution so as not to alienate the user! Hope this comes as useful advice - as I mention I do not wish to be too critical here I hate flash sites as a rule and this site exemplifies perfectly the prime reason why - it's no more than an image in hyperspace if I cannot access the rest of the site!

Ps - The site should also be viewable and accessible across the majority of browsers out there and tested thoroughly to ensure that content displays correctly over a variety of screen resolutions

ADDED EDIT:

Okay - I can now view the site clearly Jack, and it seems pretty fast - nice attempt! I will say only this, after a very recent series of reformats and reinstals on my machine - although I run Macromedia MX 2004 it appears I was only running Flash Player 7 for browser support. With your site I was not prompted to update the player and was only aware of the problem when taking a quick peek at 2advanced! Maybe you might try to recode the flash embedded scripting so that users are informed of the fact/aka prompted to upgrade their Flash Player. Though I reiterate I hate Flash sites this is by no means a bad one - nice Cars!!!
