Hi Everyone
I'm new here and I'm happy that I've found this monthly contest. I've started working with Maya just a half year ago, but I try to make a project for this month. I've already started it, I will make more details but I have a question. I made the portal with MultiStreak particles in Maya2009. Is it possible to render it in Mental Ray? Please help me how can I solve the problem.
Sorry for my english :)

Hey Tamerygo,
I would recommend using the Hardware Render Buffer (Window > Rendering editors > HRB). Then render out the particles. Then render your scene using Mental Ray, and using a Compositing package like After Effects Comp the two passes together to form your lab. Good luck :)

Welcome to DT, Tamerygo :)
You can render multistreak particles with Mental Ray too.

Yup, you can render all particles with MR, granted you've got Maya 2008+ :)

Hi
In the last few days I hadn't got too much time work on the project, but I added some details for my Lab. I still couldn't find it out how render it in MR, so I sent the photo of the portal in Hardware rendered mode.

I've added some details. Now starting to make portal around the vortex, add some stuff to the desk, add some fog, and "warning" lights. And then I finish
