I Need some help

I need some help for this picture, i try to make this book and i try make look like leather book, with gold text on. i think its like plastick, i dont know what too do...

Go get an image of leather of the inter or take a phot, go into photoshop adjust things u want, make the bump map, and presto u have ur leather material.

You should also reduce the reflectivity, and give it a specular map, the more maps you have, the less CG it will look. If you are using mental ray, you can also give the reflection a bit of a blur, the reflection blur attribute is found under the mental ray section in any maya material that have a specular attribute, such as blinn, or phong.

If you're looking for some serious textures, check this out:

There very big but they'll make great leather-like textures. Take em into Photoshop and turn them into grayscale maps to use as bump or displacement. I would also downsize them as I doubt you'll need 4k maps.
