I use the charcter setup 2, everything is fine until step 15 the IK/FK blend , when I try to orient constraint the ( Selecting the curve and shift selecting the joint looking at the video)Elbow joint everything is shifting and I receive a warning message :" Cycle on RightElbow.parentInverseMatrix...", and has I said before everyting is shifting.
I read the CGtoolkit the art of rigging and they say thay those cycle are very bad.
So what is the solution, I'm using the rigg that I found on the CDof Digital tutors, that has some naming problems too.

Hey, robotnik! Ah, the dreaded cyle error:( lol. See, what happens when you get a cycle error is this:
We have object A (control curve) and object B (elbow joint).
Object A is driving object B by the orient constrain, but object B is somehow influencing object A probably in the rotation channels. And that shouldn't happen. Is your elbow control connected to any of the joints in any way (besides a point constrain to the corresponding elbow joint)? If so, that's why you may be getting that error. Please review the videos again to make sure you did everything according them.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope you get the problem fixed.

Hello,
Thank you for the answer I knew why, but the problem is there even if I watch the video 10 times, I watch also the video for the other arm what I don't understand is when i erase the constraint on your model, and reconstraint the elbow joint it works perfectly, I admit that for me it's a mystery. I use your rigg hoping that it would fix the problem but nothing changed. When I'm working on the other arm the problem is there.
My elbow control is only connected with a point constraint nothing else
It's really a mystery for me.

HI, Im having the exact same problem !.. did you manage to fix it?
I have tried setting up just an arm in a new scene and still get problems. sometimes I get that error message, but even when i dont and all seems fine.. i turn the ik blend to 0 rotate the circles to rotate the joints, then slowly drag the amount back to ik mode and i get just a small movement.. not a proper blend.. i got it working once out of the 100 times ive tried?
Also right from the start of the lesson before theconstraints are set up, he changes the ik blend to 0 then rotates the bones just to show us.. but i notice his ik handle stays behind.. I cant even get mine to do that?
Im at a complete loss now. any help really appreciated
THANKS

in my opinion the ik?fk blend is,,, when you are in fk mode and you are rotating your arm or whatever your ik should move with the joint the reason beind my saying is,, after rotating your fk you are realising ohh now that step should be done with ik so when you switch you ik from fk you don't see any pop up or any jerk in your arm or joints that is i think true blend ..
sorry if i am saying too much in this reply.
