Um...Hey!

I'm a real newbie at Maya. I have Maya 7, and kinda grasp how it works. I've tryed doing the tutorials in the essential section, and I find them boring as I know most of what teach. I've done all the tuts in the modelling section, and they've been helpful to help me learn a little more. I basically want to model and animate a 3d car, and then people and scenes later on. Remember I'm still a beginner, and well, I want to do things well, so they look photorealistic. So what's a good training kit for me?

Thanks for ur replies in advance. ;)

cool.
k, now I'm gonna be really questioning, so be patient with me.
1. After doing the kit, will I have a perfect 3d car just like the one shown on the kit, absolutely created by me, with Maya, and maybe the slight use of Photoshop. Or, will there be parts where the tutor just says now continue and improvise, and add detail yourself, cause then I'm gonna be completely lost?
2. How long will it take to ship (I'm in Toronto, Canada) and how much will it cost?

k, thanks,

Jake.

depends on your skill it will look the same, check the gallery, their used to be pics posted by people compleating the kit. Ship to canada can take 2 weeks pending customs, used to be a week.

Yep the kit will cover every step of the process.
You might also look at the Maya Basics kit. I know it says basics but it is the foundation of all of the rest of our training. We've been using Maya since version 2 so we have a number of years under our belt and some of our kits and lessons move pretty quick at times. A good foundation of all of the shortcuts and workflow will be the biggest asset so you can get to a point where you can create objects on your own. That is our final goal.

Okie Dokie!
I look forward to soon be purchasing 1 or 2 of dt's training kits. However, I might delay a little to get some material from the library, I know a lot of Maya already (just like shortcuts, menus, and how to find stuff) so I might go straight for the car training kit.

Thanks for everbody's help,

Jake

Thanks,
