Selecting Edge Problem

Hey,

I am following the Intro. to Maya Ed.2 and I am having a slight problem.

On the video it says to go to edge mode which is fine and dandy but for some reason when I go to the edge selecting mode it looks completely different from the video. Mine seems to have the polygon proxy over it (cage) still.

I am on the part of the tutorial where you bring in the back of the engineCover.

Looks like you need to switch to polygon mode. Right click and hold over your subd surface and switch to "Polygon" mode, that should do it.
