Hi!

When I for example create a NURBS cylinder and then start modifying it, areas of it gets black. Why is this happening, im doing as the tutorials, and they dont get black when they do it.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks/ Robin

This could be a graphics card related product, what gfx card are you using if I may ask.

I am using Asus Radeon X850 XT 256MB, so that shouldent be a problem. I only have that issue with NURBS, no other problems with the program at all.

I think its the old ATI issue. Nvidia cards seem to not have so many drawing issues in the viewport. Try a driver thats supported for ati and maya. Sometimes one needs an older card. I for one had a Radeon 8700 pro wich worked great exect when drawing on object in the live modus. Try differrent gfx drivers and hope for the best I would say. Good Luck ;)

Tnx!

I have just bought a new computer with a MSI GeForce 7900GTX 512MB Graphics card. I hope that will solve the problem :)

Hi guys... One of our maya systems run with an ATI Radeon X850 E 256MB Platinum Edition Card... and it works absolutely beautiful! That specific card simply kick ass, extremely powerful for its time release. We havent updated the drivers for more than a year already... and it still works a-ok, wit Maya 7 Unlimited...

Must be something else mate...

NP anytime, sometimes this even happens to good cards. Than a simple restart of the software uusually takes care of the problem. Have Fun with your MSI im sure it does a superb and satisfactory job :D
