Here's a peak at what I've done thus far. I don't have a real clear cut plan for everything that's going to be in the scene, so any feedback/suggestions are welcome.

That's one laid back workstation, literally :D

Use http://............jpg to post images. I've put a space in the [IMG], otherwise it doesn't show.

Yes, this looks like a laid back setup, watching movies or something like that.

Just a quick update. No new modeling, but I've applied a few materials and came up with a bit of a studio set up.

Yes, it looks like a nice setup if you are drawing on a tablet. Wouldn't mind that.

While I like the style those monitors seem a little too high for comfort.

Are those massage units on that seat by any chance? :D

I agree about the monitors. I think they're too tight/close in comparison to someone actually sitting in the chair and looking at them. They also are a bit obstructing when trying to get a good image from the front of the piece. I'll need to do some tweaking.

oh, and the bumps that run along the chair were placed there to resemble a sort of spherical cushion type look. I'm not sure if they are achieving that or not.

Can I ask how you did the "arms" for the monitors? Did you extrude along a curve? Loft? They look very slick :)

You got it. I extruded along a curve with a bit of taper and twist.

I wanted to add an accent color somewhere so I chose to use the keyboard as a start.

seems like you have 2page up but no page down
but other than that... man your project is very interesting! I like the modeling, the idea, the textures... let us know when you do something new on that project!

ha, having two "pg up" buttons isn't very practical I guess. I'll have to remedy that. Thanks.

Yes, I like the keyboard, and the setup really look like something out of a science-fiction movie.

Small update. Added a few books and changed some colors. Overall I'm trying to keep this scene simple, with as much focus on the workstation as possible. I'm thinking I may do a print ad for the final image that's comprised of different camera angles. Comments and crits are welcome.
