Hi all

My first thread here , I'm a newcomer :)

so my problem :

When rendering a Simple Maya Scene through Renderman with RMStudio I want to split the final beauty composite into outputs , every output I create works fine except one which gives me weird artifacts , the " Diffuse Environment " output .

I attached a Picture to show what I'm talking about .

These artifacts created by calling up GI with occlusion shadowing no colorbleeding only accure severely when using fine deep displacement .... like if some spots would burn in some displacement gaps . when animating they continue appearing and behave like sparks on my meshes

I reallly don't know what to do about that so If you came accross this issue and have some kind of solution just tell me

cranking up shading rate of my pointcloud reduces these spots a lot but they don't vanish

thanks

Mike

Did you find a fix for this?
I have seen this time to time but small little black square pixel ones.
Im having some probs too but with the Env Light.
Im getting these weird shadow like anomalies and they dont go away unless you turn off Emit Diffuse. But then the image looks crappy :(
Here is an example:

Fix: thanks to Pixar support site (Brian), I found that I had my samples at 64 which was too low for this scene. Had to bring it up to 512 and now doing a render test at 2048. Maybe overkill but I guess Ill find out soon enough :)
