I am learning RF4 with DT tutorials and am half way through the Introduction. I evidently have some problems with my setups in both Max and RF4 and have listed them below. I would appreciate your help in getting squared away. Thanks

1. How can I get better scaling between Max and RF? I made a test cube in Max, 1m x 1m x 1m. Exported it through the RF .SD Export menu in Max, then imported it into RF through Add New Objects. Instead of having a surface area of 6m^2, it had 60,000m^2. Reducing the Scale to .01 made it equivalent in size in Max. So I lathed a glass in Max, 6cm avg diameter, 9cm high, exported it through the RF .SD Export menu and imported it the same way in RF. It came in at 2.4million m^2! Reducing the Scale to .01 reduced the surface area to 236m^2 -- still too big. It might help to know what others have set up in the Preferences dialog under both General and Display tabs.

2. I probably hit a button that I shouldn't have, but none of the tranforms work with imported objects. What can I do to fix this?

3. From the tutorial, I see that objects need to be 3-sided polys for importing to RF. It looks as if the .SD Export takes care of this as my objects imported to RF are 3-sided. If not, how do I convert to 3-sided polys in Max?
